Piran

An easy day trip from Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana, this stunning seaside town offers something for everyone. Wander the pretty streets in search of a coffee or a bite to eat or spend time relaxing at one of its beaches. Moon Bay (also known as the Bay of the Cross) is the perfect place to while away an afternoon.

Kranj

The capital of the Slovenian Alps is definitely worth a visit. If you’re worried that you’ll miss out on nature in the city, never fear—the mountains surround Kranj, and a stunning river canyon runs through the center of town. The city has its fair share of cultural offerings too, as the famous poet France Prešeren lived here. There are plenty of churches to visit in the city and numerous cafes and shops to browse in.

Lake Bled

You may have seen images of Lake Bled, the azure Alpine lake situated within the Julian Alps. In the middle of the lake is Bled Island, where you will find cafes, churches to visit, and the medieval Bled Castle. Whilst on the island, make sure you sample some of the local delicacy, kremna rezina, a cream-filled pastry that has been made in the area for hundreds of years.
