One of the most enchanting regions you can visit in France is the region of Burgundy and the historical capital of that region is the beautiful city Dijon.

Since the Dukes of Burgundy were great patrons of the arts, the city became one of the centers of art and culture in France during the Gothic and early Renaissance period. Because of that, Dijon offers a lot of art and beautiful architecture that can be enjoyed by any traveler that visits the city.

Also, as you may have suspected, the famous burgundy mustard was named after the city of Dijon too!

There is a self-guided tour through the City called Parcours de la Chuette marked by owl plates and owl arrows in the ground. The owl (la chuette) is the icon of Dijon. It was sculptured in the side of the Notre Dame cathedral and one of the legends around it is that if you touch it with your left hand, it will grant you a wish!
