Curacao – the Amsterdam of The Caribbean

The island of Curacao is a Dutch constituent country located in the region known as the Dutch Caribbean about 65km north of the coast of Venezuela.

This is a really magical place that mixes the traditional European culture and architecture with the exotic flavors of Central America, creating a mix that can’t be seen in any other place in the world.

The island offers something for every kind of traveler. Firstly the architecture is stunning, it’s like walking through a Caribbean Amsterdam. The island has the classic Dutch European ways of building construction but in the lively exotic colors of Latin America.

For history buffs, the island provides a lot of historically important landmarks since it has been of high importance in the past. These are landmarks such as Fort Amsterdam and Fort Nassau.

The island is also full of great restaurants and cafes that offer great Caribbean traditional cuisine and seafood specialties.

Of course, the stunning beaches of the island, famous for their glowing white sands and turquoise waters will leave every traveler breathless.
