The Italian Dolomites are some of the most picturesque regions in Europe and the crown jewel of this region is the small town of Cortina d’Ampezzo. This idyllic small town in the high Dolomite regions is one of the oldest winter tourist attractions in Italy. It hosted the Winter Olympics of 1956 and it will host the Winter Olympics in 2026 once again!

It’s beautiful architecture and great setting make it a perfect location for a winter holiday, but the town also offers great options for winter outdoor sports enthusiasts! However, you will enjoy the calmness of the region even if you aren’t a big fan of skiing.

Because of its magnificent scenery, this small town has been a favorite location for many famous movies, including For Your Eyes Only. Cortina has a small population of around 6,000 people, but its residents are warm and friendly and will make your stay there really enjoyable.

Walking the narrow streets of Cortina is a delight as they are filled with famous luxury brands and the architecture looks like a scene you may see in a postcard! During the night you can enjoy the beautiful starry sky above the Mountain Peaks of the Dolomites.
