One of the biggest inconveniences that often happens while flying is losing a piece of luggage or not being able to identify it while in the crowd to pick up your bags. While annoying, part of the headache can be avoided if you take some simple steps to prepare your bags for air travel. Be sure to do these three things before you fly!

Add Luggage Tags

Before you do anything else, be sure to add luggage tags with your name, address, and phone number to your bags. This will allow airlines to contact you in case your luggage is lost or delayed, and also serves as identification if there are two similar bags to be picked up.

Use a Colorful, Unique Ribbon

Are you looking for a way to spot your bags from a long way away while they come down onto the baggage claim machine? If you tie a large, easily noticeable ribbon to your bags’ handles you will have no problem seeing them even if you aren’t close.

Buy Security-approved Locks

It’s way too easy to have your bags get broken into and things stolen by airport thieves if you don’t put a lock on your luggage. Be sure to get a security-approved one which can be opened by airport staff in case an inspection is needed.

When it comes to cheap European destinations, Dublin isn’t on the top of the list. While the capital of Ireland is an expensive vacation destination, there are some great things to do that are completely free and will give you a deeper appreciation for the city. Here are three things that you can do in Dublin for free.

Chester Beatty Library

Often overlooked by tourists, this European library has an amazing collection of rare books, manuscripts, and drawings that date back to 2700 B.C. The museum has religious and artistic collections from the Middle East, Asia, North Africa, and Europe. In the morning there’s yoga and meditation and in the summer there are free Qi Gong sessions in the rooftop garden.

Temple Bar

Compared to Bourbon Street in New Orleans, this neighborhood is Dublin’s party hub. During the day, check out independent galleries and performance art venues and at night there are pubs filled with Irish music. Be sure to check out the Temple Bar Food Market which runs every Saturday on Meeting House Square.

St. Stephen’s Green

Spend the day outside at the beautiful park that stays green throughout the year. The park once served as a private community for the wealthiest residents of Dublin and now there’s a playground and garden for the visually impaired and several monuments of Ireland’s most important figures.

Movies and TV shows often introduce us to beautiful places around the world that we’ve never heard of before, and in the process make us want to visit them at all costs. They can be an amazing source of travel inspiration, and here are some of the best trip ideas for passionate movie buffs.

Filming Locations

The most obvious choice for a cinematic trip is a visit to filming locations of your favorite movies and TV shows. Unless there were a lot of green screens involved, these trips will transport you into your favorite fictional world and allow you to experience it first-hand.

Museum and Theme Parks

If you’re a passionate cinephile, it’s highly likely that museums dedicated to cinema and photography will leave you in awe. Theme parks dedicated to popular movies are also extremely popular with tourists. If there’s one that honors your favorite franchise, make sure to check it out.

International Theaters

Each visit to a movie theater is a unique experience, especially if you’re visiting one in a foreign country. International theaters that differ from the ones in your hometown is a super-fun experience, but you should also consider searching for historic retro spots.

Shopping in London is an exciting experience and offers something for everyone. Here are the best streets and areas for shopping in the city. A stroll in any of these streets will introduce you to dozens of exciting shops with unique items that range from cheap to high end.

Oxford Street and Regent Street are the most well-known and popular shopping streets of the English capital, offering a range of well-known shops. H&M, Zara, Primark are only some of the huge stores you can find in both streets, alongside local brands.

Bond Street offers a posh selection of designers and luxury stores. If you can’t afford a new Fendi bag, looking at the store windows will be a great experience.

If you are a mall enthusiast, the Westfield Mall has 300 stores and two branches in the London area you should definitely check out.

In the fashionable Shoreditch neighborhood of East London, you will find unconventional fashion. This is a particularly cool neighborhood with unique boutiques and shops. Walking from north to south, you should start at the intersection where Shoreditch High Street and Old Street meet.

Look for excellent stores like “Religion and Aida” (Clothing and Home Goods). Calvert Avenue is home to “Oliver Spencer’s” menswear store and the recommended “Luna & Curious” children’s store.

Further down the road, do not miss Redchurch Street where you can find boutiques alongside well-known brands (like “APC”), and south of it, you will find the Boxpark complex (on Bethnal Green Road) with a variety of small and unique shops.

Public pools are a perfect way to cool down during the hot summer days. There are so many different pools around the world, but these three are our favorites when it comes to Europe.

Der Spiegel Publishing House, Germany

Located in Hamburg, Germany, the pool at the Der Spiegel’s Hamburg publishing house was designed by Verner Panton in 1969. The whole building follows his wonderful design style. Unfortunately, the fire ruined Panton’s work in the pool area which was later renovated.

Tinside Lido, UK

Tinside Lido in Plymouth, UK was first opened in 1935. It overlooks the Plymouth Sound and features a beautiful pool that hosts numerous visitors year after year. It was closed from 1992 until 2005 when it reopened after refurbishing.

Leça Da Palmeira, Portugal

Leça Da Palmeira is a complex of rock pools near Porto, Portugal. It was one of the first projects of famous architect Álvaro Siza in the ’60s. Today, it’s a place that attracts tourists who want to take a break from exploring Porto and experience this wonderful, unique pool complex.
