Disney’s latest live-action movie Cruella was filmed all across the UK, but one filming location stood out from all the rest. The imposing estate Hellman Hall served as a setting for some of the film’s most important scenes, but is this an actual place or just CGI?

Hellman Hall served as the home of the wealthy and vicious Baroness Von Hellman before Cruella inherited the estate and renamed it Hell Hall. Some CGI was thrown in for a dramatic effect, but this sprawling estate is a real place you can visit in Berkshire County.

The Hellman Hall scenes were filmed at Englefield House, the Elizabethan country house which has been around since the 16th century but went through many changes over the years. You can visit it in real life since its gardens are open to the public and the home is even available for venue hire for a wide range of different events.

Fans of Cruella aren’t the only ones who should consider visiting Englefield House. If you’re a movie buff in general, you should consider putting this country house on your bucket list since it served as a filming location for many movies and TV shows, including X-Men: First Class, Match Point, The King’s Speech, Black Mirror, and The Crown.
