If you’re taking a road trip this summer you may wonder how to stay in shape and keep an exercise routine. Roadtrips usually consist of lots of snacks and fast food and many hours of sitting in a car every day. Try these easy tips for staying in shape while traveling long distances.

The best thing to do is to bring running clothes with you. Whether you’re staying in a campsite or hotel, throw on a pair of shorts and a T-shirt and go for a short run or walk before dinner. It’s also a great way to explore the new city or area you are in.

If you are more into lifting weights, buy a gym membership before you head out on your trip. LA Fitness and Gold’s Gym have locations all across America and many gyms have great deals for $10 a month! In addition to being able to lift weights in almost any city, most of them come with showers which is great if you are camping out or staying somewhere without facilities.

Lastly, throw in a yoga mat or some resistance bands in your travel bag. They are both very portable and light and a whole variety of workouts can be done with them. If you want to get more creative, try different exercises with water jugs or car items for weights!
