Paris, often referred to as the ‘City of Love’, is one of the most popular cities for tourists in the world. However, whether through paying for tourist attractions, or dining in restaurants, Paris can quickly become quite expensive. Here are three of the best things you can enjoy in Paris for free.

Walking Along The Seine

Walking along the Seine isn’t just a line in an ABBA song, it’s also a fantastic way to spend your time in Paris without costing anything. The Seine River is a UNESCO World Heritage site that takes in some of the most incredible sights Paris has to offer, including the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. There are some incredible bridges in Paris such as the Pont Neuf, and you can glimpse some fantastic sunsets from the river. In time for the Paris 2024 Olympics, the Seine will also be officially clean enough to swim in, which adds a whole new dimension to its attraction.

Free Museum Days

Paris has some of the best museums in Europe including the Louvre, the Pompidou Centre, and the Musee d’Orsay. If you’re not careful though, you can quickly rack up some expensive bills from all of your cultural exploits. If you are a European citizen under 25, you can gain free entry, however. Or, you can enter for free on the first Sunday of each month. This is a great way to take in all Paris has to offer without spending any money!

Explore Montmartre

Montmartre is a bohemian district of Paris that is famous for the number of artists who have lived there over the centuries. With cobbled streets and steep steps that lead up to Basilique du Sacre-Coeur, you can enjoy some stunning panoramas across Paris from Montmartre.
