Madrid is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. This capital city has so much to offer in every area that you can imagine. Whether you want to dive into the cultural scene, the art world, or high fashion, Madrid delivers on all accounts and more. If you are looking for a place to visit that will make you reconsider how you are currently living your life, take some time and go to Madrid and find the Spanish fire inside of you.

Enjoying the Outdoors

Madrid has some seriously gorgeous weather for most of the year, with a fairly mild winter compared to most of the world and other parts of Europe. There are so many activites to do outside in Madrid that will definitely surprise. The Buen Retiro Park is one of the more well-known ways to spend time outside in Madrid.  It is one of the biggest parks in Madrid and was formally owned by Spanish royalty until the late 19th century. The architecture within the park is so stunning, along with all the steps, ponds, and grassy areas. Absolutely a great place to spend some time and have a picnic.

A not as well known fact about Madrid is that there are several rooftop pools scattered throughout the city! Although some are attached to hotels and require a fee to get in, there are also some that are free. The best one to go to in the center is Gymage, a lounge and bar with free access to the pool from 12:00pm-12:00 am! A great way to have a view of the city and stay cool is definitely Gymage.

Museums

There are several museums in Madrid, including the Prado Museu, which is the premier Spanish art museum in the city. What is so fabulous about this museum is that there is a free entrance on Tuesday-Sunday from 6:00pm-8:00 pm. Going at night is such a unique way to experience the art, but make sure to line up well before 6:00 because it does get crowded. The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía is another Spanish art museum that focuses on 20th-century artists, with collections from artists such as Picasso and Dali.
