“Bar Trucks”: Enjoy Alcoholic Beverages Across the U.S. During the Pandemic

Throughout the world, many bars and restaurants have had to temporarily close or shut down completely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But entrepreneurs across the U.S. have been making the best out of a terrible situation by opening mobile bar trucks and they’ve become increasingly popular over the past few months. These are the ones you should check out while visiting these cities in the U.S.

Rolling Gold

While visiting New York, make sure to check out Rust & Gold, a retrofitted 1963 Chevrolet delivery truck that has keg refrigeration and external taps. When the pandemic hit, Frank Antonetti, the owner of Long Island pub Rust & Gold, started selling local craft beer and canned cocktails from Manhattan to Montauk. In addition to alcohol, the truck also sells burgers, ribeye sandwiches, and Buffalo wings.

Booze Pops

Make sure you check out Charleston, South Carolina’s Booze Pops while visiting the south-eastern state. Owned by Army veteran Woody Norris, Booze Pops sells alcoholic beverages like low-proof wine pops in flavors like strawberry mimosa and pomegranate sangria and stronger 15 percent ABV like the Southern Belle which is made with sweet tea, fresh peaches, and top-shelf bourbon.

Bovine & Barley

Luis Villegas has four “adult ice cream trucks” with frozen drinks and cocktails that canvas the Houston area. Some of the drinks you’ll find include mezcal margaritas, piña coladas, and original creations like the Ranch Water, a Tex-Mex cocktail with tequila, Topo Chico, lime, and Tajín.

Sarah’s Market on the Go

Owned by Sara Veldes, this truck from the East L.A. gourmet grocery, is one of the first in California and it sells local beers, West Coast wines and small-batch salsas, and artisanal chorizos.
