Argentina probably isn’t the first country you think of when someone mentions glaciers, but maybe it should be. The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the top tourist attractions of the Argentinian Patagonia, and every nature lover should see it when exploring this charming country.

Perito Moreno is one of the most magnificent spots in the Los Glaciares National Park, located in Argentina’s Santa Cruz province. The city of El Calafate should be your jumping-off point, and you can catch a bus from the city to the glacier, travel by car, or join a tour with a local agency.

To fully experience Perito Moreno, you should consider getting there early in the morning and setting a couple of hours aside to explore it. If you want to enjoy nice weather during your visit, make sure to visit it from October to April, and remember to dress up in layers.

Ruptures are pretty common at Perito Moreno, but this glacier is still alive and kicking, and constantly resisting high temperatures caused by global warming. It’s the third world’s largest reserve of freshwater, and you can further explore its beauty by joining one of the boat or trekking tours.
