Air Travel is Cheapest on These Days of the Week

The mysteries of air travel can be a difficult puzzle to solve. Why is it that direct flights are so expensive sometimes, whereas connecting through an out-of-the-way city can be so cheap? Why can flights in February be half of the cost of flights in July?

Well, while ticket prices might seem to make little sense sometimes, there are some tips that you can use if you are looking to pay less. They won’t always work, but these days typically offer flights for less than other days of the week. Here they are!

Tuesday

Tuesdays are typically the cheapest day to fly. Why? Well, business travelers tend to leave on their trips on Mondays in order to take advantage of the first day of the week. As leisure travelers typically don’t go anywhere during the week, airlines often lower prices on Tuesdays due to lower demand.

Wednesday

Flights are typically pretty inexpensive on Wednesdays too, for largely the same reasons that they are cheap on Tuesdays. Almost no one leaves to go anywhere new on a Wednesday unless it’s peak travel season.

Saturday

While it might seem surprising, Saturdays are often a chance to fly for less. Why? Weekend travelers tend to leave on Fridays and go home on Sundays, meaning that Saturdays are a relatively uncommon day for travel. So, if you have a free Saturday, why not catch a flight?
