Does it ever seem as though certain populations are simply born to travel, or perhaps always seem to be on the go to exotic, envy-inducing locales far and wide? It might not just be a conspiracy theory, as recent research has shown that nationals of a select group of countries are much more well traveled than others.
MoveHub, a website and organization that helps people relocate in their moves abroad, recently conducted a study that compiled data from the World Bank and World Tourism Organization of over 100 countries over the span of a decade to figure out which country’s citizens travel over the most international waters annually.
Perhaps blame it on the sheer magnitude of the size of the United States and all of the many domestic locales Americans can explore, but the good old US of A ranked lowest on the list, averaging only a paltry 0.2 international getaways per year.
In addition to Albania, Demark, Switzerland, Singapore, and Ireland, which rounded out the upper top 10 of the list, the following five countries currently boast the most well-traveled citizens in the world:
