The Louvre is one of many museums around the world that closed its doors due to the coronavirus crisis, but that shouldn’t stop you from checking out some of its best exhibits. This prestigious institution has three amazing virtual tours that you can check out right now.

Egyptian Antiquities

The Louvre has an impressive collection of Egyptian antiquities, located on the ground floor and the first floor of the museum. It’s one of the largest collections dedicated to the history of this civilization in the entire world.

Remains of the Louvre’s Moat

Before becoming one of the most famous museums in the world, the Louvre used to be a fortress that was supposed to protect Paris from attacks. If you want to explore this part of its history, you can walk around the original perimeter moat on this virtual tour.

Galerie d’Apollon

This is one of the Louvre’s most imposing rooms, thanks to its high vaulted ceilings with painted decorations. It was built during the reign of Louis XIV, and its signature ceiling pays homage to this French ruler.
