Jaipur is known by the nickname Pink City, and if you’re looking for one single building that fully captures its spirit – Hawa Mahal is the one. It’s one of the most picturesque attractions of this Indian city, and here’s a couple of tips you should use to take a perfect photo.

Early Bird

If you want to capture Hawa Mahal in its full glory, make sure to get there early in the morning. In addition to being less crowded, that’s also the time when this palace will look its best because the sun will amplify its color.

Hawa Mahal, "The Palace of Winds", Jaipur-India. Made with red and pink sandstone, the palace sits on the edge of the City Palace, and extends to the Zenana, or women's chambers. Its unique five floors exterior is akin to the honeycomb of a beehive with its 953 small windows called Jharokhas, decorated with intricate latticework. You don’t actually have to be at Hawa Mahal to capture spectacular photos of this building. Check out some of the cafés on the opposite side that offer amazing views, such as Wind View Café and The Tattoo Café.
