Many people traveling on a budget prefer staying at hostel dorms because they’re the most affordable option. Sharing your personal space with other people can be tough, and here’s a couple of things you should do to make everyone’s stay more comfortable.

Making Noise

Don’t be too noisy when you’re in the dorm with other guests, especially if it’s time to sleep. Pack for your trip a night before if you’re leaving early in the morning, and try to prepare everything you need beforehand if you’ll be coming back to your room late at night.

Food Thief

If your room comes with a shared kitchen, chances are you’ll be asked to put your name on all the food you leave in the fridge. Never assume that food you find is up for grabs, and check if someone labeled it with their name before taking it.

Leaving Your Mess

Make sure to clean up after yourself every time you’re using shared facilities, such as a kitchen or a bathroom. Wash your dishes, and make sure you’re not leaving your things scattered around the dorm, because you might be taking up other people’s space.
