The Philippines with its over 7,000 islands still isn’t a very popular travel destination among tourists. However, visiting it could be a big fun: picturesque beaches, friendly and warm people, interesting fauna and flora. So, if you decide to choose The Philippines as your next holiday destination, you should be aware of these 3 things that are strictly forbidden there.

Overplanning

In The Philippines, the weather can easily change from sunny to stormy. Typhoons are very common in the summertime, so the best time for a travel is between November and May. However, if you still get caught in the middle of a storm, be flexible with your schedule. Also, arm yourself with patients if you are planning to use the public transport, especially boats or buses. They schedule are notoriously unreliable and can change at any moment.

Not arriving on time

Yes, you’ve read it correctly! Do not ever show up on time! in the Philippines, it is considered impolite to arrive punctually. If you have Filipino friends, you have maybe noticed that they are always, but always late. Arriving 15 minutes later is recommended and socially acceptable.

Criticizing someone’s karaoke skills

If you don’t want to get rejected by the locals, you shouldn’t ever criticize someone’s karaoke singing. Filipinos love, loooove to sing karaoke, and they will do it anywhere and anytime as long as they have the right equipment. Don’t be rude, and don’t be judgmental, instead grab the mic and sing along.
