The Last Bookstore: Paradise for Literature Lovers in the Heart of LA

Everyone who’s ever been to LA has a photo with the Hollywood Sign and a snap with the star of their favorite celebrity on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

But, if you think these are the most picturesque places in California’s biggest city, that’s only because you’ve never heard of The Last Bookstore.

Chances are you’ve probably stumbled upon this literary sanctuary while scrolling through Instagram since it has a pretty distinctive aesthetic. Damaged books have been utilized in the creation of several picture-perfect sculptures, including signature book tunnel, and a hole in the wall, reminiscent of an old bank vault.

This display is surprisingly fitting since the grand atrium of Crocker National Bank once used to take up this space. Those days are long gone since the mezzanine level of the old bank ended up being taken over by one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world.

There’s so much more to The Last Bookstore than pretty displays, and owners of this establishment came up with them to attract customers. At the end of the day, a book is always a nice souvenir, and if you buy one of the used copies from the upstairs section, they’ll only set you back by $1 each.
