The Azores Are Europe’s Loveliest Hidden Gem

The Autonomous Region of the Azores, also known as the Azores, an autonomous region of Portugal, is an archipelago located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, famous for its magnificent scenery and remoteness.

The nine islands of the archipelago are stunning monuments of nature and you should definitely visit them if you feel comfortable enough being in the middle of the Atlantic.

The islands offer many dramatic natural beauties such as a stunning coastline, vigorous waterfalls, and dreamy lakes that look like they’ve come straight out of a fairytale. If you aren’t afraid to walk a bit, the islands provide great hiking trails that will take your breath away with mesmerizing views of the beautiful island peaks.

Even though the islands are a tourist attraction, they’re not as popular as other tourist hotspots in Portugal or Europe, so you won’t have to wait in long queues anywhere or survive overcrowded streets and facilities at all. The locals are wonderful and famous for their friendliness and hospitality, so don’t hesitate to start a conversation with them or ask for any help you might need.
