]]>This wetland wonderland is situated on the south coast, near the city of Marseilles. It is famed for its native flocks of flamingoes, but there are plenty of other wetlands and wading birds to see. Although this area of France is incredibly popular, the Camargue maintains a sense of peace and tranquillity, so it’s a must-visit if you’re seeking some relaxing time in nature.
Situated in the province of Burgundy, this gorgeous national park offers plenty of idyllic woodland walks, traditional farmsteads, and bucolic fields. This landscape is best visited in high spring or early summer, but the trees will also look stunning in the fall. There are many well-marked trails through the national park, so you can enjoy a relaxing ramble or a more strenuous climb, depending on what you’re looking for.
These mountains are located in the southeast of the country. While they may not be quite as big or as bold as the famous Alps, there are plenty of reasons to visit this range. The hiking and climbing trails here are generally much more accessible for beginners than those found in the Alps, and there are plenty of stunning views from the mountains, stretching out across the Massif Centrale.

]]>These beautiful, wide streets provided plenty of inspiration for Impressionist painters such as Degas and Monet. With the pale stone of the houses and the rows of planted plane trees, these streets are designed to catch and reflect light, something that was very important to Impressionist artists. Explore the area around the Boulevard des Capucines, where in 1874 one of the houses hosted the first Impressionist exhibition.
These stunning gardens are visited by many tourists seeking a little respite and some natural beauty amongst the buzz and thrill of the city. The Impressionist artist Monet was struck by the quality of light in this natural space and recorded it in several of his works. The gardens are especially beautiful in spring and early summer, so make sure to visit them if you’re heading to Paris soon.
Many of the stations in Paris are ornate and constructed with large amounts of glass to let in the light. For this reason, artists including Monet and Degas spent lots of time sketching them, trying to capture the play of light and the rush of people. If you’re passing through one of the city’s stations, such as Gare du Nord, it’s worth pausing for a moment to notice the quality of the light and architecture in these spaces.

]]>Avoid modern apartments and buildings and try to stay in an authentic and traditional home. The beautiful architecture and old-fashioned techniques will really help you to feel like you’ve traveled back in time. This is particularly effective if you’re visiting in fall or winter when the wintry weather can make you feel very grateful for the warmth and comfort of your accommodation.
Whilst the Dracula-themed attractions will be open year-round, if you want those spooky vibes visit Romania in the fall. The myth, folklore, and history of this country mean that you can sense that every town and village is steeped in storytelling and memory, and the hauntingly beautiful landscapes help to increase the sense of mystery and suspense.
Whilst many sites will claim a connection with Dracula, none are quite so impressive as Bran Castle, situated not far from the city of Brasov. This beautiful building has, in reality, no connections with Stoker or the myth of Dracula, but it’s worth the visit for its stunning architecture and incredible history. The tourist industry has made the most of supposed connections, so expect to see plenty of Dracula-themed stalls outside, but this doesn’t detract from the overall experience.

]]>There’s a reason that The Louvre is the world’s most popular museum, attracting nearly 10 million visitors a year. But it has so much more to offer than just the Mona Lisa, which many people seem to prioritize above any other tourist attraction in Paris. Unfortunately, the Mona Lisa is so crowded that it’s nearly impossible to get a good look at it—or a photo that doesn’t have a million people in it.
In any list of places to see in San Francisco, you’re likely to find Pier 39, a popular shopping center and tourist attraction. Well, unfortunately, many tourists who were attracted there reported back that it’s little more than a tourist trap with overpriced shops and restaurants.
It may be one of the most famous landmarks in Brussels, but the Mannekin Pis is really just a small statue of a boy urinating into a fountain – and it’s tucked into an unexpected corner on an unexciting street and surrounded by tourists taking photos.

Similarly, Times Square in New York is basically the definition of a tourist trap, with nothing but overpriced chain restaurants and people trying to get money out of your pocket—legally or otherwise.
It may be a pretty iconic London landmark, but the London Eye isn’t much fun. Not only is it absurdly expensive, but you’ll get shoved into a capsule with 20 people, many of whom are screaming kids.

]]>Matera has one of the longest continuous inhabitancies in the world, with evidence of population even 7000 years ago. There, you can see the prehistoric caves where Italy’s ancestors lived.
Interestingly, Matera was an infamous slum until only 70 years ago and residents were still living in caves made up like houses. The very poor population there lived without modern amenities until a book brought attention to their conditions and things improved.
The most famous and beautiful part of Matera is the Sassi, which is the area of the ancient city with its winding streets and overlapping houses. Many Italians like to walk among the Sassi, getting lost in its stone alleyways and snapping photos along the way. If you want to feel like a part of the country, this is a great place to visit.

]]>Hawaii is a popular tourist destination with around 10 million visitors on a yearly basis. Tourism is a huge part of the state’s economy and the new bill could slightly alter the experience of tourists.
The first two out of four action points make sure to protect the locals as much as possible. “People locally and around the world have the right to clean, healthy, and adequate air, water, land, food, education, and shelter,” states one part of the resolution.
The next two points focus on tourism. A shift to electric vehicles available for rent will reduce gas emissions, and when it comes to locals, there are plans to open many new jobs in the renewable energy field.
Sustainable travel has been trending for a while, but without initiatives like this, there’s not a lot that individuals can do to make the situation better. Hawaii is setting a great example for others so we expect to see more similar initiatives in the future.

]]>MagicLand is a 40-minute drive from Rome, which means it’s easily accessible if you’re visiting Italy’s capital. From year to year, the park gets new rides and attractions so people keep coming back to see what’s new. There’s a big selection of activities for kids.
Odissea 2000 was a small leisure area at first when it was just a part of the Nausicaa Resort. Today, it’s one of the most incredible waterparks in the country with exciting and relaxing attractions.
Gardaland’s mascot is famous in Italy. The park is located near Lake Garda. It was launched in 1975 and over time, its size has doubled. The park offers amazing rides and performances for all ages.

This move was provoked by the estimated €1 billion loss in museum and landmark entrance fees alone.
Italy has opened bars and restaurants several days ago during the second phase of reopening. They’re currently providing take-out only, but are expected to start receiving small groups of guests by the end of the month.

]]>Sir Bani Yas is the largest island near the coast of Abu Dhabi, but this is not the best-known feature of this marvelous place. This island used to be the private estate of Sheikh Zayed up until his death when it was turned (as his wish) into one of the largest and most significant wildlife reserves in the world.
Since then, this stunning island has become a real haven for animals, and it is one of those rare places in the world where you can drive by a heard of giraffes or gazelles.
The island offers amazing resorts where you can have a magnificent stay, and then can go on an authentic safari trip and witness some of the most breathtaking natural sights in the world.
Be sure that your camera’s battery is full since you won’t put it down during the whole trip. Where else will you be able to photograph a cheetah on the run?
