Wat Phra Kaew

To start with the most famous one, Wat Phra Kaew is a temple with the most tourists every year. That’s because this temple is home to the Emerald Buddha, a 15th-century jade statue believed to be the protector of Thailand. The King of Thailand changes the statue’s clothes three times per year in a ceremony.

The visitors are required to dress appropriately, which means no shorts, sleeveless tops, or stretch pants, among other things.

Wat Arun

Wat Arun, or the Temple of Dawn, is one of the most appreciated temples in Bangkok. 10-baht coins are decorated with its images. The temple has recently been returned to its original glory as the restoration work finished in 2017, after many years of work.

Wat Pho

Wat Pho temple is also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha and it’s considered to be the world’s center for studying traditional medicine and Thai massage.

Wat Saket

Home to Phu Khao Thong, Wat Saket sits on a man-made hill and has a golden Chedi on top that’s believed to contain a relic from Buddha. If you want to get on top of it, you have to climb 344 stairs. This temple is typically less crowded than the previous ones on our list.

Are you one of the millions of people intrigued by the story of the pharaohs and ancient royalty in Egypt?

If so, your next travel destination must be Luxor, Egypt, which served as the ancient capital of the pharaohs over 10,000 years ago.

During this time, the city was known as Waset. Located on the banks of the Nile River in the south of the Egyptian territory, its importance to the royalty of Ancient Egypt was unrivaled by any other city.

Fortunately for us, the number of ancient monuments and ruins that are still standing and can provide testament of Luxor’s fascinating past is unrivaled anywhere else. In fact, the quality and quantity of the remains that one can visit here lends the city the nickname of “The World’s Greatest Open-Air Museum.”

One of the top things to do for any visitor to Luxor is to visit the Valleys of the Kings and Queens. Here, you can see where ancient pharaohs were buried in tombs that survive today.

Another must-see in Luxor is Karnak. This complex consists of the ruins of various temples that once had a great religious importance in the ancient city.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BwT12bKhoZX/

Finally, be sure to complete your visit with a trip to the Luxor Temple. This ancient holy place still stands today and is over 3,000 years old.

Luxor is waiting to be discovered. Be sure to travel there as soon as you can!
