Made of water-repellant nylon to protect you against any bodies of water you come across, these pants are convertible, meaning that whether you want long pants or shorts, these will certainly do the job.
Even though the days may be warm, once the sun goes down, the temperatures can get cold on safari. That’s why this warm fleece jacket will be perfect for regulating your body temperature while keeping you comfortable.

]]>Winter is the ideal season for wildlife watching because many trees and shrubs turn leafless, which makes spotting the animals easier. South African winter takes place between June and December.
South Africa has over 600 reserves and national parks. The latter is the more affordable option, but unfortunately, it also tends to be more crowded. Two parks stand out—Kruger National Park and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi. Kruger Park, which is roughly the size of Wales, is home to nearly every African animal you can think of. There is an array of accommodation options in the park—from isolated campsites to cottages in busy compounds.
Hluhluwe-iMfolozi is situated in the heart of Zululand, and beaches along the nearby Elephant Coast are some of South Africa’s most beautiful.
Private reserves have a few advantages—unlike most of the government camps, the lodges there are rarely fenced, meaning you’re as close to the wildlife as possible. The only reason you might not choose a private reserve would be the high cost of the experience.

]]>Situated in the sprawling Kruger National Park, this walking safari will make you one with nature. Typically at least a two-day adventure in the northern Kruger Park, you’ll be able to encounter an array of baobab trees and a large fever tree forest while also spotting the occasional leopard, lion, and elephant.
If spotting members of the Big Five is your priority, then Camp Figtree is where you want to be. Located just outside Addo Elephant National Park, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see elephants up close, however, lions have also been introduced to this ecosystem, making for an intriguing safari.
This private game reserve offers you unique access to the Sabie River, where a wide range of animals congregate all year round. Lion Sands also happens to be a luxurious lodge, with private plunge pools and even tree house accommodation.

The people sitting at the table on the balcony look far from alarmed, and there even seems to be another wild cat in the background.

According to the TikTok user who posted the video, which he captioned “King of Speed”, the cheetah is now older and lives in the wild where she hunts for food.
To prove that a predatory animal being in close proximity is not a normal occurrence, fellow users of the app took to the comments section to share their shock.
“I would have been on the table in a sec, as if that would have helped,” wrote one. Another quipped, “I would have died 5 times.”
Overall, commenters laughed at how the video has done nothing to debunk the belief that Africans have wildlife as pets.
“Y’all are really making it hard for us to prove we don’t chill with wild animals, how can we defend ourselves after this now.”
Rest assured—most animals like these are confined to zoos and in the bush on safari!

]]>African safaris are a great option for this start of travel, but you might not know where to start out when planning to go on one. As a starting point, these are three countries with excellent safari options that I recommend that you consider.
Often considered to be “the birthplace of safari travel,” Kenya is a classic pick for African exploration and one of the best options out there. The Masai Mara National Park, the home of lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and hippos, among other animals, is the most popular region to explore.
There is no shortage of natural areas with wildlife to explore in Tanzania, as the western half of the country is full of game reserves and reserves like the Serengeti National Park. You will be amazed at the herds of animals like wildebeests and rhinos that can be seen here.
South Africa, Botswana’s neighbor to the south, might be more famous for safaris, but this smaller country might be an even better option. Giraffes and hyenas abound in places like the Kalahari Game Reserve, a natural, dry grassland with normally pleasant weather and great sightlines.

]]>Destination specialists can give you important information for planning your itinerary and pre-departure including COVID-19 testing protocols, country entrance requirements, and the required supportive documentation. While traveling, you’ll have someone to turn to if something changes.
Safari destinations are trying their best to keep travelers and their citizens safe like requiring negative COVID-10 tests within 48 to 120 hours of arrival. Some places are even offering tests upon arrival and limiting the time travelers need to spend in cities when additional testing is required.
If possible, try and travel before the end of May 2021 because you’ll have much more space to yourself since the capacity is wide open.
Decrease your interactions with others by staying in one country. This also makes it so there’s less of a chance for changes to happen with your plans.
Flying is pretty safe now due to airlines requiring masks and air filtration systems. Aim for direct flights to countries that require negative tests for entry.

]]>Planning an African safari adventure does require some preparation, however. Here are some things that you should do to ensure that you’re ready before going.
The tropical, foreign diseases which are present in most African countries are something that people should be vaccinated for before traveling. Check with your doctor and country recommendations, but you’ll want to at least get vaccinated against diseases like yellow fever.
Safaris are always done with a guide or guide group in Africa, and before you spend thousands on making this journey, do your best to ensure that the people you’ll be going with know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about. Check reviews online thoroughly to go with the peace of mind that you’ll be led by experts.
Many popular safari destination countries require entry visas for tourists who will be traveling there. Check visa requirements for citizens of your country long before going, and be sure to apply for whatever sort of documentation you’ll need far in advance.

]]>The largest cat in the Americas, the Jaguar lives in the U.S. Southwest and South America. Sadly, the animal is currently listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List. If you want to see it up-close, the best place to do that is the Pantanal region in Brazil. There are jaguar tours here that you can take.
Tiger is officially the world’s largest cat. Some males can weigh up to 660 pounds! WWF informs us that there are less than 4,000 wild tigers left on the planet today. The very best place for spotting tigers in the wild is the Kanha Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh, India.
Leopards live all around Africa and Eastern and Southern Asia, but they are unfortunately under threat, just like many other wild cats. If you want to see leopards in Person, it’s best to go to the Yala National Park in Sri Lanka. Once you get there, you can ride in an open Jeep and explore the amazing wildlife.
