Whether you want to lie in the sun relaxing all day or want to swim and explore the water, you won’t find more perfect beach paradises than in Phuket.
Thai food is world-famous and super popular, and on this beautiful island, you’ll find some incredible offerings. Its southern location means it has influences from Malaysian and Chinese cuisine as well as traditional Thai, although you need to be prepared for some seriously spicy dishes.
As well as having beach paradises and delicious food, this island is well known for its buzzing nightlife. You’ll find a huge variety of bars and clubs catering to a wide range of tastes, so you won’t run out of things to do and venues to explore.

]]>In the town of Karon near Kata Beach, you will find the Art Space Gallery and Music Bar. Inside, the decor is a thing of bohemian dreams. Lanterns hang from every corner and handmade crafts are sprawled across every surface. The owners of the cafe are both artists and their own creations are hung across the walls.
At night, the cafe transforms into a live music venue. A drumkit stands in front of a giant white Christmas tree and the colorful array of dim lights are switched on. The cocktail menu is as colorful as the decor and there truly is something for everyone.
The lunch menu contains too many items to count. If you are craving Western food, you can choose from a selection of mouthwatering burgers or pizzas.
There is also a wide selection of Thai dishes, including a surprising range of vegan options. I chose Thai cauliflower dish, which was crispier and more flavorsome than I was anticipating. The prices are reasonable and the food is some of the most delicious I have experienced during my time in Thailand.
Surprisingly, the Art Space is quiet by day, despite being the top rated cafe on Tripadvisor. If you are looking for some delicious Thai food, a bohemian experience and some peace and quiet in the bustling town of Phuket, this hidden gem is certainly the place to go.

If you’d rather get up close with elephants who are being rehabilitated and cared for, you might prefer to observe the elephants enjoying their new found freedom at Phuket’s elephant sanctuary instead.
Fantasea is home to a theme park and puts on several shows. There’s opportunity to learn about Thai history and enjoy the spectacular performances.
Prompthep cape is one of the most rewarding view points in Phuket. It’s the perfect place to watch a sunset and it’s the kind of scene you see in those “win a holiday to Thailand” adverts that made you wish you were in Phuket to begin with.
Phuket is very Westernized but if you want to experience traditional Thai cuisine and authentic handmade gifts, Walking Street is the place to go.
