Avoiding crowds will be a top priority for many this summer, so why not head to the wide-open expanses of nature to experience Earth’s most beautiful sights while social distancing? Hiking or exploring a natural park is a great option to do this.

Primanti Bros

Perhaps the most famous Pittsburgh food is the “Primanti’s sandwich.” Influenced by Eastern European immigrants who came in the early 1900s, the sandwich is made up of coleslaw, french fries, tomatoes, grilled meat, and melted cheese.

The centerpiece of the University of Pittsburgh stands at 535 feet tall and can be seen from anywhere even on a cloudy Pittsburgh day. The unique architecture and the great views from the top floor make it a great place to visit. “Cathy” is also the tallest educational building in the Western Hemisphere.

]]> Every country has its own drinking traditions, and if you travel to any of these countries, don’t be surprised if you’re offered these liquors at a bar or restaurant! And if you are, always say yes, because if they’re offering you’re not getting charged for it!

Spain

There are so many misconceptions about what Spaniards actually drink, and the truth is it varies from region to region. In Andalusian, it’s definitely more common to have a cold fruity drink like sangria since it’s so hot, while in Basque Country they love vermouth.

If you’re ever in Galicia though, you’ll definitely be offered a coffee liquor called licor cafe. It’s usually homemade by each restaurant, and it’s the perfect alternative to a standard coffee.

Israel

Most countries in the Middle East have a liquor that’s similar, but the best is in Israel where you can find arak. Arak is an anise-flavored liquor, and is perfect for digestion or just the start of a great night!

Italy

A lot of people think of Italy and automatically think limoncello, but in Tuscany, you’ll find another liquor being offered to you after dinner. Grappa is a grape flavored brandy, and it is such a delicious change to limoncello.

This spirit distilled from leftover skins, pulp, seeds, and stems of the grapes used in the winemaking process often resembles the variety it heralds from. This example from @cantinadivenosa is made from Aglianico in the Basilicata region of Italy’s Campania. The top #wine of this region is #Aglianico del Vulture, a DOC wine with a long history that is influenced by soil from the Vulture volcano and the climatic of the gentle hills of #Venosa. While this wine is indeed delcious, I also fell in love with the region’s other indigenous variety, the white grape called #Malvasia. . The Cantina di Venosa Verbo Malvasia has a beautiful fruit heart that is reminiscent of honeysuckle and tropical fruit.
