]]>Bali Swing is a little pricey but the extra couple of dollars are put towards a fantastic cause. A portion of the park’s profits funds a charity project which educates children from preschool through to secondary. The program enables children to learn English and Mandarin so that they can find a job in the booming tourism industry in Bali when they finish their studies.
We recommend arriving as close to the park’s opening as possible as for the first hour of the day, I barely had to queue for a thing. I started out by clambering on-board the park’s biggest and most thrilling swing (naturally…) and was caught off guard by the rush I got from being thrust forward above the jungle. Tied to tall palm trees, the swings look cute enough until you are soaring high above the treetops below. I definitely screamed but no, I did not want to go faster.
There are 15 swings in total and even though some were pretty much identical, I still rid them all. Each one is a chance to see the lush greenery below from a new angle and another shot at getting that perfect motion picture. While some are taller and faster than others, the staff are always vigilante when it comes to health and safety.
Ultimately, the park is pretty much a playground for Instagrammers. Reluctant boyfriends stand around snapping pictures of their beautiful girlfriends who pose in the cute nests dotted around at various photo points. Being a lone visitor, I was pleasantly surprised by how accommodating the staff was. I’m not usually someone who enjoys having my photo taken but by the end of the day, I felt runway ready. And it’s all thanks to the lovely staff who had a laugh with me as I indulged in my vainer side.
After spending two hours in the park, I headed to the buffet which I was delighted to learn was vegetarian. There is a delicious selection and the food is fresh and refilled regularly. I took my tofu stir fry up to the top deck where I enjoyed my birds-eye view of the river and the shrieking Bali Swing visitors. After my complimentary coffee, I was ready for some more adrenaline.
When I finished my lunch, I couldn’t resist climbing back on the big swing one last time. After scrolling through my photos, I also learned that the right side of my face is definitely the good side and slipped back into a couple of the nests for another photo shoot. If you think this sounds a little cringy then fear not. Everybody else is doing the same and will be cheering you on and shouting encouraging stage directions at you.
Time Spent In The Park: 3 hours. We recommend longer if you arrive in the afternoon.
Value For Money: Good. Especially as a portion of the profits goes to charity.
Traveler Master Rating: Thrilling & fun!
