Don’t know where to start exploring Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam? Well, we recommend first hitting the city’s best tourist attractions and then going on with everything else. Here are some of them below.

Saigon Central Post Office

It is unusual for a post office to be a top tourist attraction in any city, but Saigon Central Post Office really deserves this title. The building features an intriguing blend of Gothic and Renaissance architecture while also being influenced by styles popular in 19th-century France. Saigon Central Post Office is particularly interesting to tourists thanks to its interior design centered on Asian decorations.

War Remnants Museum

War Remnants Museum is dedicated to telling the story of Vietnam’s participation in the First Indochina War and the Vietnam War. The museum consists of several themed rooms featuring archival footage, documents, and objects from the period, as well as open-space exhibits of helicopters, battle planes, and weapons.

Cu Chi Tunnels

Cu Chi tunnels played an important part in the Vietnam War due to their role as hiding spots and their importance in communication and transport. Ho Chi Minh City features a 75-mile-long complex of Cu Chi tunnels, which are open to tourists. Visitors can learn more about their use and even crawl around with a tour guide.

Pink buildings are so popular with travelers that you can find dozens of Instagram pages dedicated to them. If you love them as much as the rest of the world, it’s time to put Tan Dinh Church on your bucket list because it’s one of the most picture-perfect buildings in all of Vietnam.

Located in the very heart of Ho Chi Minh City’s District 3, this religious building is formally known as the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was built during the French colonial period and it went on to become one of the city’s most photographed attractions since opening its doors in 1876.

The pink church of Ho Chi Minh perfectly blends neo-Romanesque, neo-Gothic, and neo-Renaissance elements, but it didn’t always look the way it does today. Its exterior and interior were actually painted pink in 1957, and this renovation transformed it into one of the city’s most Instagram-friendly spots.

The vivid pink color of its façade is highlighted by its white patterns, and the church features several smaller towers in addition to its main clock tower. You will be equally impressed by it if you decide to step inside because it’s decorated with Italian marble altars and features walls painted in strawberry and cream hue, reminiscent of its exterior.

Ho Chi Minh City is an amazing place to visit if you are interested in Vietnamese history. If you have visited all the museums and are looking for something a little more romance-friendly, here are five activities you can do with your partner.

Take a Boat Ride Along Saigon River

There are plenty of ways to travel down the Saigon River. We recommend jumping on a ferry and watching the sunset for the perfect river date.

Explore the Cu Chi Tunnels

The Cu Chi Tunnels are an extensive network of underground tunnels used in the Vietnam War. You can still explore the tunnels today and get a little history lesson while you are at it.

Artinus 3D Museum

If your perfect date involves a little silly fun, head to the Artunis 3D Museum. You will get the chance to take lots of hilarious photos and escape the humidity.

Catch an Opera

Ho Chi Minh City is home of the Saigon Opera House. The A O Show Saigon offers a Vietnamese fusion of dance, circus, and music. The building itself is an architectural marvel.

Go For a Romantic Stroll In The Forests

If you would prefer to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, take a trip to Can Gio. The coastal district offers a mangrove forest that is teeming with wildlife.

Suoi Tien Cultural Theme Park is a truly unique water slide park South of Ho Chi Minh City. As far as we are away, it is the first and only theme park in the world to be dedicated to Buddhism.

To give you a picture of what a Buddhist theme park means, think of Disney Land. Instead of Mickey Mouse and Goofy running around in costume, picture golden monkeys and Phoenix statues.

The park includes a spectacular Buddha shrine and Buddhist sages with water slides coming out of their beards. If you are someone who struggles to pay attention in a museum, the park is a fun way to learn a little bit about Vietnamese Buddhist culture while having a fun and action-packed day out.

Other park highlights include a pond filled with live crocodiles. There is a Palace of Unicorns which contains a haunted house and there is a charming boat ride around the island.

The park is built on an impressive scale and will easily fill an afternoon. You can find out more here.
