Not only are these temperatures uncomfortable, they can become dangerous, especially if visitors are still determined to see sights which are outside, such as temple ruins and wildlife parks. Opting to visit Greece, Italy and Spain in late March or early October means that you should experience temperatures of no more than 70° F, which means that you can stay cool and comfortable throughout your stay.
These days, cities such as Rome, Barcelona and Paris can become incredibly busy during the summer months. Famous sites around Europe, from beaches to mountain passes, are flooded with tourists from June through to early September. By booking your get-away for March, April or May, or later in the year, you can enjoy some beautiful sights and scenery without having to deal with hundreds of other tourists.
Although some hotels and airlines are cottoning on to the rise of shoulder season, for the most part you will get better deals if you book in March or October. This means you can save more of your budget to spend when you’re away, so look forward to more meals out, multiple trips to museums and art galleries, and perhaps even a special treat such as a spa day when you’re away.

]]>While summer is a fantastic time to travel and provides most people with their longest annual vacation period, it can be difficult to find places that you’ll enjoy visiting if you can’t stand the heat like me.
Lots of popular destinations on Earth are located in places where the high temperatures are just unbearable in the summer. If you want to avoid this, here are some recommendations for you.
One of my favorite summer destinations in Europe is Finland’s large capital city of Helsinki. With gorgeous architecture and a seaside location, you can enjoy all of the hallmarks of a great European city in summer with none of the heat. The average high temperature in July is only 70 degrees!
Located on the Pacific Ocean and enjoying a very moderate climate is the beautiful city of Vancouver. This city is an art lover’s dream and is located in the midst of picturesque green hills. You are guaranteed to love it.
With a name like this, you shouldn’t be surprised that you won’t be hot here! A nature lover’s paradise, Iceland is full of volcanic landscapes, unforgettable glacial lakes, and beautiful fjords. You can enjoy nature without breaking a sweat (literally!).

The temperature in June and July only get into the high 70s, and at night it’s only in the high 50s to low 60s. The best part about Vigo is that it’s on the ocean, and you have access to a ton of beautiful beaches and hiking.
If you really want to be in a cold place, go to Birmingham, which is one of the coldest places in the world during the summer. All summer long, you probably won’t have a day that’s much warmer than the mid 60s, and it rains so often that it’ll probably be colder than that. The city itself is really cool and has a lot of interesting architecture and a raging club scene.
This stunning capital has amazing landscapes, culture, and is pretty constantly cold. Even in August, which is the warmest month of the year, the temperature will still only be in the 50s, so you don’t have to worry about ever breaking a sweat!
