Evita Robinson is a Pioneer of the Urban Travel Movement

Evita Robinson has created a huge community around her travel lifestyle brand Nomadness Travel Tribe.

Robinson founded Nomadness Travel Tribe in 2011 and it was the first digital travel community for black millennials. She quickly gathered hundreds of members and started leading group trips to places like Brazil and India.

Robinson is considered an innovator in the travel industry for many other reasons, too. For example, in 2018, she founded the first festival for black people called Audacity. It was held in Oakland and will be repeated in Memphis this September.

She doesn’t know a stranger, she’s always willing to give a helping hand, and you can approach her whether you need her to listen or support! • Not to mention she can share her experience living as an expat! THE TRUTH ABOUT WATERMELON • The next time ANYONE tries to make fun of a African American eating watermelon you make sure to use it as a teaching moment! • Once we were “technically free” most freed blacks couldn’t get jobs other than picking cotton and doing work in the BIG house. They were purposefully not hired because they didn’t want freed blacks gaining wealth or learning how to read and write. • So we turned to entrepreneurship and because most of slavery was in the south one of the only crops we could grow successfully was Watermelon. We sold it we , grew it, we ate it because it was a cool snack in those hot temperatures! • So YES, there’s a story, there’s a reason and make sure you let them know! • Our girl @thequeenofvacations looking 😍 in Brazil!
