Check It Out: The Ice Hotel In Jukkasjärvi, Sweden

Jukkasjärvi is a small town approximately 200 km north of the Arctic Circle. The town boasts a grand hotel made entirely of ice. Every winter, the walls and fixtures have to be rebuilt.

The official website description states: “A hotel and art exhibition made of ice from the river Torne, each year reincarnated in a brand new design. A place to discover silence, northern lights, glistening snow clad forests, reindeer, cloudberries, kettle coffee and much more.”

If you are worried about catching a cold, do not fear. The hotel offers warm rooms in addition to their ice rooms.

The website suggests: “We recommend you to book one night cold and a couple warm, starting or ending with the cold night. We also provide overnight wilderness excursions.”

The cold rooms are truly spectacular and the ice exhibitions seem to get more magnificent with each year.

If you have ever dreamed of staying in the Arctic Circle, you ought to add the Ice Hotel to your bucket list.
