Before Coronavirus, the digital nomad lifestyle was on the rise, seeing more and more popularity every year as people took advantage of the convenience of technology to be able to work while traveling around the world. But then came COVID-19 and it changed everything, including the working world and the traveling world. So how did this impact digital nomads?

Well, they basically had two options. Go home or wait it out, and nobody knew how long Coronavirus was going to last. But now, over a year later, with vaccines allowing the world to open up again, digital nomads find themselves in an entirely new scenario.

On the one hand, there are more remote work options than ever, as the Coronavirus pandemic proved to companies that an employee doesn’t have to be physically present in the office in order to do their job.

On the other hand, traveling hasn’t gotten much easier than it was in the height of the pandemic, with constantly changing policies about planes, hotels, vaccines, green passports confusing us and possible Coronavirus variants looming over us as a constant fear.

So what can digital nomads do? Get vaccinated, keep proper documentation, and become experts on different countries’ travel regulations. But taking advantage of more remote work opportunities is a must for somebody truly committed to the digital nomad lifestyle.

As the world continues to advance in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccinations are being given out to millions around the world and restrictions are beginning to loosen as a light appears at the end of the tunnel. How will this affect travel in summer 2021? Will you be able to visit other countries and see the world? The answer is hopeful, but complicated.

Who’s Vaccinated?

Many countries have already begun setting up systems in which fully vaccinated travelers will be able to cross into their borders from abroad. This benefits travelers from places like the United States, the UK, and Chile, where nearly half of the population has been vaccinated against the disease.

However, it might cause problems for people who want to travel from other countries where vaccinations have gone more slowly. Keep waiting for your chance to get the jab if you haven’t been lucky enough to do so yet, as this could open a mountain of possibilities.

Tread Lightly

While some countries are looking at this idea for vaccinated travelers, there are others that aren’t even taking vaccination status into consideration for travelers. Mexico is a good example. While this might be an easier option, keep in mind that you will need to take extra precautions while heading to countries like these.

Be sure to keep a close eye on internet sources and news reports to see what restrictions and what possibilities will open up over the next few months. Our long travel nightmare might soon be coming to a close!

While Scandinavia officially covers the three kingdoms of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, in English usage, it also includes the Scandinavian Peninsula, which adds on Finland and Iceland to create the colloquially termed Nordic countries.

This region is the northernmost in Europe and is known to be very pleasant with a high quality of living, yet surely very cold. The harsh climate doesn’t seem to get too much in the way of the Nordic peoples’ lifestyles, but instead actually augments it with concepts such as Danish hygge, which encompasses decor and practices that can create a supremely cozy and warming atmosphere.

With that said, take a look at a handful of Scandinavia’s most stunning winter wonderlands:

Gamla Stan (Old Town), Stockholm, Sweden

Snow and cafes in one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals

Lapland, Finland

Sleep under Northern lights or take a reindeer sleigh ride in Finland’s most northern area

Bergen, Norway

Colorful wood buildings, fjords, and majestic mountains

JΓΆkulsΓ‘rlΓ³n, Iceland

Natural wonder of black volcanic sand on a frozen beach
