3 Things That Can Negatively Affect Your Sleep When Traveling

A good night’s sleep is important on any given day, but while traveling, it can have a huge impact on the quality of your vacation. Between the jet lag, excitement, and unfamiliar sleeping arrangements, there are tons of reasons why you may not be getting a good night’s sleep when traveling, and here are three things you should avoid in order to get quality sleep.

Late Night Dining and Drinking

Eating or drinking alcohol to close to when you want to head to sleep is never a good idea as your body needs time to digest food and drinks. If you’re hungry before bed, eat a very light snack.

Skipping Workouts

Exercising has a positive impact on sleep, making it easier to fall asleep and have quality sleep. You don’t have to hit the gym during your vacation, but try and incorporate light exercise like renting a bike or taking a walking tour.

Choosing a Bad Hotel

Before booking a hotel. try searing for the world “sleep” to see if there have been complaints about people being unable to sleep due to noise, thin walls, mattresses or pillows, or room temperature.
