Throughout the journey in Western Australia, you will be accompanied by the feeling that you are traveling in unknown territory and it’s definitely worth the trip.

]]>Shell Beach is located in the Shark Bay region of Western Australia. Denham is the only major city located in close proximity to the beach, and it takes around 30 minutes to reach it by car by riding down the Shark Bay Road.
Shell Beach stretches for kilometers and shells are between seven and ten meters deep. It became an extremely popular tourist attraction because it’s one of only a handful of beaches made up entirely of shells. The crystal clear water adds to its charm, and swimming is allowed.
The high salinity of seawater in the area kept natural predators at bay and made it possible for cockle shells to survive and thrive for thousands of years. That’s the explanation behind the great abundance of shells on this picture-perfect beach. They even formed a limestone known as coquina, which was mined and used for the construction of several buildings in the surrounding area.
