Picking the right clothes for your trip can be extremely tricky. You want to pack something you’ll look cute in, but it’s also important to go with the fabrics that won’t wrinkle easily, take up to match space, or dry for too long.

If you’re struggling to pick the right fabrics for your trip, these three are the best possible choice.

Polyester

Polyester, nylon, and similar performance fabrics may not be as stylish as some other alternatives, but they’re lightweight, wrinkle-resistant, and can dry pretty quickly.

Cotton

Cotton certainly has its downsides, but it’s the most common fabric out there so it’s impossible to skip. It’s soft, takes little space, and it’s incredibly easy to style it with other fabrics.

Silk

Despite the fact it’s prone to wrinkling, silk is breathable and stylish, and it barely takes up any space – plus you can easily get rid of the wrinkles by hanging it near the shower.

Rayon

Rayon is a great fabric to pack for your trip, because it’s quick-drying, wrinkle-resistant, and lightweight, but it’s not great for warmer climates since it doesn’t wick moisture well.

We all want to look our best while traveling, and buying brand-new clothes for your trip may seem like the best possible way to get there. Unfortunately, this is much trickier than it seems, and here’s a couple of reasons why you should think twice before packing shoes and clothes that you’ve just bought.

Perfect Fit

Before packing new clothes for your trip, you should put them on at least once and see if they feel comfortable enough when you’re wearing them for hours. It’s also important to think ahead and see how well they fit with the rest of your clothes.

Laundry Duty

You should also wash your clothes at least once before wearing them, especially if you’re planning to do laundry during your trip. Some clothes tend to shrink and stretch in the washer or dryer, and you definitely don’t want that to happen in the middle of your trip.

Shoe Trouble

Even if you don’t see the problem traveling with brand-new clothes, never do this with shoes. You’ll spend countless hours on foot, and that’s why it’s so important to travel in reliable shoes that you had a chance to break-in properly.

If you’re embarking on a long trip, packing separate outfits for every day is simply not an option. You’ll have to do your laundry on the road at some point, and here are the best ways to keep your clothes nice and clean.

Right Accommodation

Before booking accommodation, make sure to check what services they are offering. See if they have a washing machine on the premises that guests can use, and check if detergent is provided so you would know if it’s necessary to bring your own.

Local Laundromat

If your accommodation isn’t providing laundry services, check if there are any laundromats in the area. Do research beforehand, because they’re not as common in every country, and check their prices to see if they fit your budget.

DIY Method

If everything else fails, you can always do your laundry on your own. Hand washing your clothes in the sink is the most popular method, but if you intend doing this make sure to pack quick-drying fabrics and wash them as you go along before they pile up.
