One of Tirana’s most Instagram-friendly spots is located just outside the museum the city’s National Art Gallery and it serves as its art pavilion. This transparent, three-dimensional structure was composed of fine steel bars, and it’s the work of art of the famed Japanese artist Sou Fujimoto.
Clearly visible from the majority of Tirana’s focal points, TID Tower does a great job capturing the Mediterranean light and it’s truly a sight to behold. As the building rises, its elliptic shape turns into a rectangle at the top and its fine-meshed panels are impossible to miss.

]]>The hostel is placed within walking distance of Tirana’s central nightlife and restaurants and it even has a resident bar and microbrewery where they make beer and raki. The building is a vintage 1920s villa that was repurposed and redesigned by the owners, Erjon and Eni, to become a backpackers haven. The two are seasoned travelers themselves and they wanted to create this place and experience for young visitors to their hometown.
The hostel is fairly small, with only 48 beds available, so each traveler has lots of space to rest, clean their equipment, and recharge before going on their way. The dorms are air-conditioned and clean sheets are provided.
The place has great ratings throughout travel review sites, and from our experience, this means the staff is probably fantastic. Seems like a good reason to plan a trip to Tirana.
