Can you imagine a beach that literally glows? Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? Well, if you come to the Maldives, this dream will become real. The mesmerizing glow emitted by an all-natural phenomenon turns this beach into a neon paradise, giving it the nickname “The Sea of Stars”. Here’s what you need to know about it.

Location: The Vaadhoo Island

The Glowing Beach is located on Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives. Much like other Maldives islands, this tropical heaven rocks warm vibes; but it also boasts a beach that lights up like a dream.

Where Does The Glow Come From?

What’s the deal with Vaadhoo Island’s fabulous glow? It’s all thanks to some cool chemistry with bioluminescent plankton. These tiny things turn the beach into a glittering galaxy of stars.

But how come you don’t find this cosmic glow just anywhere in the Maldives? Well, it’s a strategic move by the plankton. When predators roll in, the plankton pulls its glow trick to defend itself. They light up, exposing the invaders to the watchful eyes of other marine life and visitors partaking in water activities.

If you’re a fan of unique beach vacays, the Glowing Beach should really be on your list. Don’t forget to pack a swimsuit.

The Maldives is the perfect vacation destination. The islands offer clean white beaches, excellent food, and generous welcoming hospitality. And if you’re looking for the best place to stay while there, we believe the best resort is without a doubt the Kuramathi Maldives Resort and Spa.

Set on a beautiful Maldives island, the resort offers luxurious private villas with perfect sea views, beach access, TV, minibar, safe, and some have a spa bath and espresso machine.

There are several options for room types with the top being the luxurious beach villas or dreamy water suites. Kuramathi resort offers guests the ultimate Maldives experience of a villa located right on the water. It is hard to describe in words the feeling of waking up and seeing endless turquoise waters.

The resort has three pools, a spa, a children’s club (which has treasure hunting games and even a marine biology class), and of course lots of attraction options for water sports and diving trips such as SAP, windsurfing, jet-skiing, and more. Sports enthusiasts who want to diversify from water sports can enjoy the tennis or football field.

The resort has 12 restaurants—3 main restaurants serving an international buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as bars and a nightclub.

Kuramathi also has an amazing sandbank, and it is worth going to see it especially at sunset, as it is a particularly romantic spot.

Between the bungalows, blue seas, and island vibes, the Maldives is one of the most visited places in the world and it’s a top honeymoon destination. So what should you know before visiting this South Asian state? Get the most out of your Maldives vacation with this advice.

Skip the Flight and Take a Boat

While many private-island resorts offer the choice of arriving by boat or seaplane, flying by plane is more time-intensive because seaplanes depart from a different airport than most travelers arrive at.

Make it a Family Trip

The Maldives are typically thought of as a couple’s vacation, but many resorts are great for families with kids and teenagers. Some hotels even have themed pools, kids clubs, and island-wide treasure hunts.

Spend Points, Not Dollars

Use the points you’ve been saving up over the past year or so for lush villas or hotel stays instead of using cash.

Splurge

The Maldives has some of the best, most luxurious accommodations in the world, so go ahead and splurge. You’ll find resorts will overwater villas complete with waterslides and underwater bedrooms with see-through domed ceilings perfect for watching marine life.

There are some amazing places in the world that unfortunately won’t be here forever, so if you want to see them in person, you should hurry up.

Venice, Italy

The medieval city is known for its canals and cobbled alleys, but it’s unfortunately sinking year after year, and if you want to visit it, you better hurry. The city is only a 3.3-foot rise in sea levels away from being underwater. It’s scary to even think about it.

The Maldives, South Asia

The Maldives is considered a paradise on Earth, but the islands are under a big threat from sinking. The ocean levels are constantly rising, and we can’t help but wonder how long will the Maldives stand up to nature.

Taj Mahal, India

The majestic mausoleum is one of the most iconic structures in the world, and over four million people come to see it every year. Erosion and air pollution are real threats that could make it sink toward the Yamuna River at one point. There are even plans to close the Taj Mahal to the public in order to slow down this process.

We dreamed about it for a long time and just after one glance it gave us an incredible feeling, other-worldy! It is even more beautiful in reality than in picture, WOW! ✨ • The Taj Mahal, as lots of you already know, is one of the 7 wonders of the world and we can assure you, it deserves all the queue you will have to do and the rush to arrive first in order to take the best shot ever! Even 400 years after its construction, this white-marble masterpiece represents one of the most incredible architectures ever existed! 🙏🏽 • Have you already visited one of the 7 wonders? If yes, which is your favorite? • Travel tips 🧭: -you will encounter a similar and first gate while walking to the Taj Mahal but we suggest you to skip it because it becomes easily crowded. Go ahead and reach the mausoleum. On both, right and left side, you will find 2 mosque with this archway where you can take a shot like this one 📸 -be aware: tripods are not allowed, for this shot we asked (for the first time ever) the help of a guy 🤳 -perfect time to visit: as early as possible in the morning (opening hours 6AM-6.30PM except Friday that is only open for muslim) or late in the day just before sunset time ⏰ -ticket prices: for foreign nationals the entrance fee correspond to 1050 INR (~14.80$) no charged for children below 15 years 🎫

If you’re looking for a memorable and unique dining experience, look no further than the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant in the Maldives.

The Maldives, an island country located in the Indian Ocean, plays hosts to a restaurant that no dinner will ever forget.

At Ithaa, diners dine under the water. That’s right: at this restaurant, you are seated in a dining room under the sea, where your meal is served to you as you observe the blue water and marine life swimming around you.

If you travel to Rangall Island in the Maldives, you might have the opportunity to have a meal at this one-of-a-kind restaurant.

Opened in 2005, Ithaa was the first ever restaurant of its kind. At the end of a jetty, diners descend a spiral staircase into the underwater capsule that hosts the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant.

Here, diners are treated to a fine dining experience with cuisine inspired by both Asian and European influences. While the food is highly-rated and certainly looks delicious, it comes at a high price tag. Dinner at the restaurant currently costs about $400 per person.

What do you think? Would you have a meal with the sharks at this surreal restaurant?
