Cape Town, South Africa is one of the continent’s coolest spots and a great place to seek out vacation if you are looking for an intriguing destination to visit. This seaside city of 430,000 offers up a pleasant climate, beaches, and so much to do.

No matter what your goals for your trip to Cape Town are, there is one thing that you absolutely cannot pass up on doing while there: heading up to the top of Table Mountain.

Located in a nature reserve that separates Cape Town naturally from its inland suburbs, Table Mountain towers over 3,500 feet above the surrounding area and offers a perfect natural vantage point to see the city, the surrounding landscape, False Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean in all of its glory.

There are two popular options for getting to the top of the mountain: a suspended cable car that offers 360 degree views on its way up to the summit and back, and hiking trails which lead up to the summit.

The cable car is a great option if you do not want to take on a big hike, and it’s an experience that you won’t soon forget. Just grab it from the lower station near the Oranjezicht neighborhood and ride it to the top!

Hiking is also fun if you want to get a little bit of exercise in, and it will take you a couple of hours to get to the top of the mountain if you take the popular Platteklip Gorge route, which is not overly strenuous and takes a couple of hours each way.

So, be sure to make time to plan a day to visit this iconic Cape Town spot if you are planning a vacation to this lovely city.

A cableway from the city or hiking are the best ways to reach the top of Table Mountain. From the mountain’s flat, granite peak, visitors are able to observe an unforgettable panorama of the city of Cape Town as well as the coastal landscapes and beaches that surround it.

Speaking of beaches, Cape Town has no lack of amazing places to soak up the sun and swim. The city boasts an enviable climate with lots of sun and warm temperatures, especially from October through April.

One of the city’s top beaches is Bloubergstrand, located just outside of the city center. Here, visitors can kitesurfing and sunbathe while gazing at the impossibly blue waters of the Atlantic. In fact, you can also see Table Mountain on the other side of the bay from here.

Any visitor that goes to Cape Town enjoys an unforgettable experience. Be sure to go sooner rather than later!

South Africa is home to some of the most urban cities on the African continent, but that’s not stopping it from being a true natural marvel. The list of its natural wonders that you have to explore is pretty much endless, and these three are a good place to start.

Blyde River Canyon

Known as the “green canyon” due to the lush greenery that covers its sandstone cliffs, the Blyde River Canyon offers the adventure of a lifetime. Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the Three Rondavels are two of its most popular attractions, and they perfectly encapsulate the geological richness of this canyon.

Table Mountain

This flat-topped mountain in Cape Town is one of South Africa’s most popular attractions for a reason. Enjoying it from the distance is amazing enough on its own, but the real magic happens once you get striking views at Lion’s Head, Signal Hill, Devil’s Peak, and other surrounding attractions.

Valley of Desolation

Every nature lover should visit the Camdeboo National Park during their visit to South Africa. One of its most striking wonders is the Valley of Desolation, which offers unforgettable views at sheer cliffs and rock formations rising from the valley floor.
