“We believe Americans will travel this holiday season, it will just look different,” CEO of Kayak Steve Hafner says. “Expect domestic instead of international travel, longer trip lengths and last-minute decisions. For those who feel comfortable flying and are flexible on routes and dates, there are deals to be had.”

In the document, it was noted that 57% of Americans didn’t take a vacation longer than four nights last year. It’s particularly prominent in the Millennial generation – these young people are more likely to go on 3-4 short vacations instead of one long one in a year.
The biggest reason why this generation takes shorter vacations is money – both money not spent on a longer stay and money they don’t lose by taking days off work.
