Daegu Samsung Lions Park

The festival atmosphere at Daegu Samsung Lions Park in the city of Daegu is no surprise given the massive success of their home team. 24,000 fans regularly pack the stands at this almost new stadium, where fans are guaranteed to have fun.

Jamsil Baseball Stadium

While baseball in South Korea is now quite popular, this wasn’t always the case. In fact, when Jamsil Baseball Stadium was built in Seoul in 1982, it was the only major baseball stadium in the country. It maintains its quaint charm and is a great park to visit in the country’s capital.

– 내가 10살 때쯤 엄마는 처음으로 나에게 물었다. “아들, 우리 야구장 갈까?” 그 당시 우리집에서 잠실야구장에 가려면 버스와 지하철을 타고 두시간을 가야했다. . . 엄마는 간단한 먹을거와 마실거를 챙겼고, 나는 모자와 야구 글러브를 챙겼다. 난생 처음 야구장에 가본다는 생각에 가는동안 내 심장은 미친듯이 쿵쾅거렸다. . . 그렇게 몇 번 더 엄마와 야구장 데이트를 했다. 나는 자연스럽게 야구에 흥미를 더 갖게 되었고, 두산아파트에 사는 두산베어스 광팬 두린이가 되었다. . . 야구장에 가는 길에 항상 엄마는 음악을 들었고, 창밖을 내다 보며 나에게 먹을 걸 건넸다. 그리고 막상 야구장에 가면 엄마는 승패는 물론이고 경기엔 큰 관심이 없어보였다. 그렇게 우리는 왕복 4시간 야구장 데이트를 몇번이고 더 다녔다. . 오늘 문득 야구장에 가는 길에 엄마 생각이 났다. . . 야구를 잘 모르는, 야구를 별로 좋아하지 않는 엄마는 왜 야구장에 가자고 했을까 . . 그때 엄마는 어떤 마음이었을까 . . #야구 #잠실야구장 #두산베어스 #엄마생각 #글
