If you’re a big coffee drinker and looking to incorporate coffee into your next great All American trip, then you have many options. Lucky for you, we have compiled a short list of some of the states best known for their coffee, so you can skip the research and pack your bags! Keep reading for four US states to travel to if you love coffee.

Portland, Oregon

Oregon is one of the biggest coffee manufacturers in the states making it an ideal choice for coffee lovers and connoisseurs. There are no shortage of amazing coffee shops to choose from in this state. Fans who love nature and hiking should also add Oregon to their list, and drink their coffee overlooking some beautiful nature.

Seatle, Washington

Seattle is the birthplace of Starbucks, and home to many coffee shops that are both delicious, and supposedly more affordable than in other states across the USA.

San Francisco, California

In addition to LA, San Fran is one of the most popular coffee destinations, as it boasts the highest average spending on coffee per household, making it excellent stomping grounds for the coffee obsessed individual.

New Orleans, Louisiana

NOLA is home to some of the best coffee around the world, offering its own spin on classics such as the Cafe Au Lait, where they add spiced chicory root. This makes New Orleans a staple in the coffee world, and it is also a key part of the international coffee trade.

To quote the saying, “you can’t make everyone happy—you’re not pizza.” As perhaps the best-loved food in the world, more than 5 billion pizzas are sold globally each year. It’s hard to go wrong with the Italian dish, but it’s even harder to make it exceptional.

Each year, Big 7 Travel compiles a list of the best pizza places around the globe. Here are the top three.

3. Peppe Pizza—Paris, France

Despite it being an Italian dish, the French know a thing or two about pizza. This restaurant may be in the heart of Paris, but it is Napoleon at its core as the owner, Peppe Cutraro trained in the Spanish Quarters in Naples. Peppe Pizza has been around since January 2020, and boasts local Parisian mushrooms, cured pork cheek, and truffles from Molise amongst its toppings.

2. Ken’s Artisan Pizza—Portland, United States

Considering Ken’s Artisan Pizza is an off-shoot of Ken’s Artisan Bakery, you know these people know about dough. The wood-fired pizzas have appeared on many of Portland’s “best lists” thanks to its long fermented dough, hand-stretched mozzarella, Italian tomatoes, and blistered crust.

1. 10 by Diego Vitagliano—Naples, Italy

Naples is regarded as the birthplace of pizza, so it makes sense that the best pie in the world is found there. The pizzeria excels at creating classics like Margherita and Marinara (even though it is labelled “marinara sbagliato”—incorrect marinara), but the Pistadella, which is a combination of pistachios and mortadella cheese, is a must-try.

Like many major American cities, Portland is known by several different nicknames, but one of them stands out above all else. Oregon’s largest city is often referred to as “the city of roses” and many of the city’s top spots are dedicated to this beautiful flower.

The backstory behind this popular nickname is pretty easy to explain. Due to its convenient location in the marine west coast climate region, Portland is the ideal place for growing roses. This industry has been on the rise since the late 19th century, and the nickname “the city of roses” came into use around that time.

It was first used during the Episcopal Church convention in 1888, and the founding establishment of the International Rose Test Garden truly cemented Portland’s status as “the city of roses”. This garden is now home to an impressive collection of over 10,000 rose bushes of 650 different varieties, and it’s one of the city’s most visited tourist spots.

Portland is also a host to the annual Portland Rose Festival, and there are several more rose gardens you can explore during your visit to this city. Some of the city’s top attractions are either named after or pay homage to roses, including Rose City Park neighborhood.

If you love all things retro, Portland is one of the places you should visit at least once in a lifetime. Oregon’s largest city also happens to be surrounded by many beautiful natural wonders—including Multnomah Falls.

Multnomah Falls is the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon and one of the best day trip destinations you can visit while in Portland. It’s located on Multnomah Creek in the Columbia River Gorge, about 30 miles outside of Portland.

This waterfall has been popular with tourists for decades, and Multnomah Falls Lodge was built to accommodate the visitors all the way back in 1925. The surrounding area is just as equally breathtaking, and many nature lovers come here to enjoy stunning views of the Columbia Gorge.

Pathways and a viewing bridge, named after Simon Benson who commissioned it, make the visit to Multnomah Falls even more epic. If you’re lucky enough to visit it when weather conditions are good, you can also enjoy a hike to the top that will make you appreciate the beauty of this waterfall even more.

Sandwiched between the more famous states of California and Washington on the United States’ West Coast is Oregon, a captivating state with an endless bounty of options for any traveler.

These are four things that every visitor to Oregon simply must do:

Check out Crater Lake National Park

Centered around a once-active volcano that is now dormant, and whose caldera has been filled in by a pristine freshwater lake, Crater Lake National Park in southwestern Oregon is an unforgettable natural site for travelers.

Spend a weekend in Portland

Oregon’s largest city is a beautiful mishmash of quirky shops, farm-to-table restaurants, tree-lined streets, and unique cultural events. Highlights for visitors to Portland include Powell’s Books, the world’s largest independent bookstore, Deschutes Brewery, and the gorgeous Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BrdRbNaBjBj/

Hike to the top of Multnomah Falls

Just outside of Portland, only a steep two-mile hike is what stands between visitors at the top of Multnomah Falls, an impressive cascade that rushes down to the bottom of the Columbia River Gorge. The falls, which record a 620 vertical drop, rewards visitors with a spectacular view of nature in action.

Explore the Oregon Coast

Oregon’s Pacific Coast is a picturesque, lush, green landscape dotted with small coastal towns, virgin beaches, and jagged cliffs. Simply following the coast on Highway 101, allowing for plenty of time to discover towns like Newport and sights such as Cannon Beach, is a rewarding itinerary for visitors to the Beaver State.
