If you are visiting Tel Aviv, a visit to this hidden market, which does not appear in the regular tourist guides, is a must.

Located in the southern part of the city, is Lewinsky Market. The market was established by Bulgarian, Turkish, and Persian immigrants who came to Israel in the 1950s.

The market contains a large number of spices, special food products that can only be found there, a wide variety of dried fruits, and shops that sell sweets and snacks.

In the market, you can find a large number of pleasant and trendy restaurants and cafes, as well as shops offering vegetarian creations such as cheeses, pastries, cakes, and snacks, or shops specializing in smoked fish and other delicacies.

The market is very accessible by means of transportation and is a short walk from Tel Aviv Central Station and the trendy Florentine neighborhood.

On Fridays, the market is especially lively, the cafes are full and music emanating from them fills the street and creates a particularly fun market experience.

Do not miss this amazing market on your next visit to Tel Aviv!

Everyone who comes to Tokyo, Japan falls in love with this one of a kind city. Parks, sidewalks, cherry trees, and skyscrapers. Relaxing quiet and bustling traffic, fancy restaurants and cheap ramen, art, and computer games. Tokyo has something for everyone.

Here are some tips for travelers to this amazing city who only have a short amount of time.

Sushi

Eat the most delicious sushi you have ever eaten. In Tokyo, you can eat great sushi without spending a lot of money. Try asking for recommendations from a local friend or just look for the longest queues at noon; that’s where the sushi is most fresh and delicious.

Tokyo Wet Market

n the past, it was possible to enter the famous tuna auction in the morning, where restaurant owners and traders purchase the freshest and most beautiful tuna. In recent years, however, the market management has banned visitors from entering it at the time of the auction. Even so, visiting this huge fish market is an amazing and spectacular experience.

Karaoke

Karaoke the night away. Many karaoke clubs offer happy hour deals in the small hours of the night, which appeals especially to those who missed the last train and offers a unique karaoke experience at attractive prices.

The city of Berlin, Germany has a long and glorious history of flea markets. In almost every district in the city, there is an iconic flea market where vintage lovers meet on the weekends to look for authentic bargains and cheap deals.

The goods in the markets vary from week to week, and the markets are not affected by the weather. They actually take place even when it snows!

The most famous flea market in Berlin, which attracts many tourists is the market in Mauerpark. The market takes place every Sunday in Mauerpark, which resides in the Prenzlauerberg district.

The Mauerpark Flea Market is a huge market with stalls full of clothes, books, records, used posters and CDs, vintage bikes, beds from the 50s, and items from the DDR period.

There are many food stalls scattered around, including vegan-vegetarian stalls, bars, and cafes.

A farmer’s market, Dolac is an open-air market that was built in 1930 and has been in business ever since. The market is divided to two sections: upper and lower.

In the upper market, you’ll find fresh local produce including fruits, vegetables, nuts, and flowers, as well as some local souvenir stalls.

The lower market includes butchers, fishmongers, and cheeses, all refrigerated and out of Croatian sun, as well as bakeries and fresh pasta. Delicious!

If you’re visiting the market in the morning get a breakfast Burek (a cheese-stuff pastry) to go from the lower market, and a fresh fruit for dessert from the upper market, and you’re set.

The market is open from 7 am until 3 pm every day besides Sunday, when it’s only open until 1 pm. We recommend planning your visit around the time of day you’re likely to get hungry.

Bangkok’s floating markets are a tourist attraction as they represent something most of us don’t get to see on a regular basis. You can find several of them around Thailand’s capital and they’re almost always crowded due to tourists who want to experience shopping while on a boat. If you want to avoid crowds, visit the smaller floating markets that typically don’t get much attention.

What to Buy

The floating markets offer many different things, but the best-sellers are food, fruit, and flowers. You can get the fresh coconut to drink or noodles prepared on the boat that you can eat on your way back. If you plan to have breakfast at the market, you can try some local fruits and other uncommon food.

Top Markets

  • Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is probably the most popular market in Thailand. People who visited it 15 years ago remember it differently than it is today, but it’s still a huge attraction.
  • Amphawa Floating Market is the second most popular floating market in Bangkok area. There are fewer tourists and the experience is more authentic.
  • Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market doesn’t have many tourists so it’s a great place to visit if you want to blend in with the locals. It’s also more of a market along water than a floating market, so it’s not the same thing.
