Lloyd and Yaya are the guys from Hand Luggage Only who are currently living their dream, traveling all around the world, exploring the planet, and sharing their experiences with the world. Their Instagram page is at around 70k followers .

How did it all start? They share that story on their website:

“Hand Luggage Only was born back in April 2014 on a surprisingly warm afternoon in Yaya’s college room at University of Cambridge. In what seemed like an oasis of calm between assignments, Yaya and Lloyd (that’s us!) were talking about sharing our travel stories and photos with others like-minded travellers on the internet. We’d already been doing this for a while and (almost competitively) sharing our stories on Facebook but what we really wanted was to connect with other travellers across the globe and have a two-way conversation about travel.”

There were genuinely so many moments this past week where I legit forgot we were in Canada and thought we were in France! ? We’ve been to Canada a fair bit recently and I just love how diverse the entire country is. Found ourselves a rather unexpected cenote today! (Except, I’m pretty sure they’re not called ‘cenote’s here ?). Best part is that you can actually go for a swim in its crystal clear waters.

The streets here are absolutely GORGEOUS!!! If a Disney character (any one, really) just peered out of a window and suddenly started singing, I wouldn’t even bat an eyelid! It just seems like the sort of place that would happen in. ?? #GermanySimplyInspiring

One of the most impressive places we visited in Hangzhou was easily Lingyin Temple (it’s almost 1,700 years old!). These carvings are at entrance to the temple and although they’re much younger than the temple itself (the temple is huge, by the way) they’re over 1,000 years old and are rather impressive parts of the temple themselves! (Just remembered this now – we’ve got a video on IGTV from our time in Hangzhou! I think it’s one of the first one we uploaded so if you’re interested, swipe on IGTV towards the earlier videos to find it).

To get a sense of how huge The Monastery is, here’s a photo of me standing in front of it! (bottom right-ish). Thinking of doing a Q&A on Instagram Stories (or maybe an Instagram Live) to answer any questions you might have about our trip here (prior to doing the full-on blog posts, of course). Would this be of any interest/useful to you? If so, what part of the trip would you be the most interested in hearing about (planning, costs, transport logistics…etc?)

Absolutely loving exploring this amazing city with the Jetlag Social Club app! Can’t wait till it’s properly released so I can try it out in other cities too. Well, the cherry blossom (Sakura) was every bit as pretty as they said it would be! ??? Lucky our trip to Tokyo coincided with the start of the season (which lasts like only 10 days here). Also kinda lucky the Jetlag Social Club app recommended coming here yesterday for “some quiet time” as I’ve just seen the queues to the park on Instagram today and it is BUSY!!! ?
