Some attractions draw in millions of tourists every year and, while we get their appeal, we have to wonder if being at the same place with all those people is truly worth a trip. Luckily, some of the most famous landmarks in the world have nearly identical twins that you can enjoy without any crowds and get a much better look.

Colosseum and Pula Arena

The Pula Arena is basically the Colosseum’s Croatian twin brother. It’s the best-preserved ancient monument in the country and, what’s even more impressive, it’s still used as a venue for performances with up to 20,000 visitors.

Notre-Dame De Paris and Amiens Cathedral

These two gothic cathedrals are both located in France, but guess which one is more popular? Notre-Dame is one of the most visited landmarks thanks to Victor Hugo who wrote a novel about it, but the other one is just as stunning.

Saint Basil’s Cathedral and Church Of The Savior On Blood

There’s a church in Saint Petersburg that looks incredibly similar to the famous Moscow landmark, Saint Basil’s Cathedral, but most people still want to visit the latter and see the Red Square in person. Do the opposite if you want to get the best view.

Some landmarks in the U.S. are more popular than others, and today we bring you three that you may not even know about but that are definitely worth a visit.

White Sands National Monument

Unless you’re from New Mexico, we doubt you know about this magnificent place. White Sands National Monument is an incredible sight that’s never crowded and remains in pristine condition. The dessert basically looks like snow that never melts and it’s something you need to see in person.

Lake Pontchartrain Causeway

The Golden Gate Bridge may be impressive, but it’s not the longest bridge in the U.S. The longest bridge is Lake Pontchartrain Causeway that connects New Orleans and Mandeville, yet not many people are visiting it. It even holds the Guinness World Record so we believe it’s well worth a visit.

Petrified Forest National Park

There’s another impressive work of nature in Arizona besides the Grand Canyon. Petrified Forest National Park is truly epic with its colorful rocks, fossilized wood that’s over 200 million years old, and the abandoned village of Puerco Pueblo. The place is mesmerizing and looks like something out of a sci-fi movie rather than a real thing.

Romania is a country with a rich history and lots of myths and legends. The country’s many of the landmarks all astonishingly beautiful. Here are some places you would love to pay a visit.

Bran Castle

Also known as the castle of Count Dracula, Bran Castle is an amazing building. Surrounded by forest that gives a mystic touch, this castle is up on a rock and wows with its exterior. The interior is not all dusty and vampire-like, on the contrary – it’s filled with historical pieces from Queen Mary of Romania.

Salina Turda

Who would have thought that a salt mine can be an amusement park? Turns out, it’s a great spot for bowling alleys, ferris wheels, and rowboats. This former salt mine was a bomb shelter during WWII and it’s located 400 feet underground. There’s still salt in the air so visiting this place is not only fun but also good for your health.

Constanta Casino

This grand building will leave you breathless the first time you’ll see it. Laying on the shore of the Black Sea, this Art Deco site is surrounded by mystery and will give you the chills.
