In terms of the world’s greatest national parks, Fiordland is second only to the Grand Canyon. The vast wilderness is bursting with treasures and the primeval atmosphere will inevitably draw you in.

Here are some of the wonderful ways you can spend a day in the park.

Kayaking

You can kayak in Milford and Doubtful Sounds, where waterfalls slide down the mountain’s edge. You can also find glaciers and pristine lakes in the park.

Go For A Hike

Although much of Fiordland remains untouched, there are plenty of hiking routes mapped out. The Milford and Kepler walks are favorites and you can even stay overnight in “tramping” huts.

Enter the Wilderness

Fiordland is bursting with life and its ancient forest are home to many native creatures, many of which are endangered.

Apline Climbing

If you fancy something a little more adrenaline-inducing, the park is a popular destination for alpine climbers. The Milford, Kepler and Hollyford track is the best way to experience the park at its peak.
