Bangkok, Thailand, is one of the top tourist destinations in the world. But that doesn’t mean you need to act as a tourist during your visit. Instead, embrace the authentic experience by experiencing these non-touristy things.

Check Out a Muay Thai Event

Muay Thai, also known as Thai boxing, is considered the national sport of Thailand. Muay Thai events are happening all across the country on a weekly basis, and Bangkok is no different. Find a nearby event, buy a ticket, and see why the locals enjoy it so much.

Sathorn Unique Tower

If you are an architecture buff, you’ll love Sathorn Unique Tower. The construction of this abandoned skyscraper was halted in 1998 and never resumed. Some locals believe the place is haunted, but that shouldn’t stop you from checking it out.

Do a Biking Tour of the City

Bangkok is a great city for cycling. While on a bike, you can explore the city in a unique way and get some exercise while you are at it. Just make sure to be cautious of your surroundings and respect the signalization.

Experience the Street Food

Don’t waste your time or money in restaurants. Instead, hit the streets and check out the city’s amazing street food offerings. You’ll be able to enjoy tasty and unusual dishes and meet the Thai food culture in an authentic way.
