]]>Over the next few years, crews will be getting rid of layers of paint and rust before applying a fresh, new layer of gold paint to make the Eiffel Tower even more breathtaking.
The Eiffel Tower opened in 1889 at the World’s Fair and over the years, it’s been painted 19 times. When it was first erected, it was painted red, which the designer, Gustave Eiffel requested. Since then, the landmark has been painted in brighter colors including orange, green, and yellow.
The tower has been a brown-red color since 1968, and now it’s going to be painted a yellow-brown color for a more golden finish.
“It’s going to give the Eiffel Tower a bit more of a gold hue than the color that we’re used to seeing, in time for the Olympic Games,” Patrick Branco Ruivo, the CEO of the company operating the tower told the Hong Kong Tatler.
The makeover began in 2019 and it’s estimated to cost around $60 million. It’s likely to be completed in 2022, with much time to spare before the 2024 Olympics. An extensive renovation of the park to the south will follow the paint job.

In addition to this, you can make your virtual tour even more all-encompassing by exploring the panoramic views from the tower’s observation decks on the Eiffel Tower’s website, which show just what you would see if you were there and visiting.

]]>Visiting the Eiffel Tower without booking tickets in advance is pretty much pointless because you’ll end up waiting in a line for hours to buy them if they’re even available.
Elevator lines at the Eiffel Tower are pretty much endless, so save yourself some time by taking stairs whenever possible and enjoy amazing views along the way.
Paris’ most popular tourist spot isn’t one of those attractions you can simply skim through, so plan your trip with this in mind and have a couple of free hours at your disposal.
If you failed to book your tickets to the top of the tower, don’t despair. Check if there are any of “skip the line” or second-floor tickets available, and try to make a reservation at one of the tower restaurants if that’s not the case.
