Had the opportunity to taste the latest release from @mountgayrum today and it did not disappoint! ? . This is the first release under the new Master Blender Trudiann Branker and it bodes well for the future. . The rum has the classic DNA of Mount Gay, smooth creamy toffee and raisin, but with heavier nutty, butterscotch and fruity notes. Barbados is believed to be the original home of rum. It has been distilled here since the 17th century and the first rum distillery Mount Gay was open in 1703. Barbados rum is perfectly blended and aged until the flavors are at their peak.

Cuba

Rum from Cuba was especially popular during Prohibition when the Americans came to the island to get it. Important Cuban rum is pretty easy to find around the world but you’ll have less luck in the U.S. because of the trade restrictions.

Jamaica

There were around 150 rum distilleries in Jamaica in the early 1900s but only four work today: Appleton Estate, Hampden Estate, Worth Park Estate, and National Rums of Jamaica. Those four are enough to make Jamaican rum one of the best and most sought after rums in the world.
