Bought new diving equipment? You’ve probably invested a lot of money, and we are sure you want to keep it in perfect condition. Here are some tips on how to keep your gear ready for your next dive.

Check that the equipment is in good working condition before each dive. Routine maintenance includes visual inspection, cleaning, and proper use of all equipment.

After diving, the equipment should be rinsed with fresh water. It is recommended to perform additional rinsing of the equipment when returning home after a diving trip, as most of the equipment rinsing facilities in clubs is relatively dirty and have a high salt concentration towards the end of the day.

Prolonged exposure of the equipment to the sun should also be avoided and it is best to dry your equipment in the shade. Before storing, make sure that the equipment is completely dry inside and out.

Store the equipment in a cool, dry place so that no cracks or mold will form on the equipment.

Keeping your diving equipment in good condition will ensure that it is well maintained until the next dive, but will also help maintain your safety and security underwater.
