A Cuban sandwich actually has its origins in South Florida, when restaurants began to offer up a new sandwich to Cuban immigrant workers in the region’s cigar factories. Still beloved today, this sandwich combines ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, mustard, and pickles and served warm.
Originating in the Spanish region of Galicia, Cuban emigrants from this area put their own twist on this delicious food item which contains meat, cheese, and/or veggie-based put inside a piece of fried dough. Often served with pork, cheese, beans, and onions, these are common and a perfect snack.
