In addition to being one of the largest producers of coffee in India, Chikmagalur is known for its hiking trails.
Home to the first-ever Indian-owned plantation, MPS Coffee, Yercaud is located in the Salem District of Tamil Nadu. The name for this small hill station comes from the lake that’s in the forest that covers the Shevaroy Hills. Popular tourist locations include Yercaud’s Japanese garden and the watchtower.
In addition to having an organic coffee brand, Araku is known for its pepper and rubber. While visiting this plantation, be sure to take a hot air balloon ride and a trek to the Borra Caves.
As one of the only coffee plantations in Maharashtra, Chikhaldara has beautiful lakes and the hilly terrains of Amravati. It’s also the perfect place for bird watchers.
