Staying in a hotel while on vacation can be a really great experience, can’t it? The comfort of a room near all of the attractions in the place in which you are visiting in which you don’t have to clean or make the bed is a luxury, and one that many people choose to take advantage of while traveling. One question that many people have when it comes to hotel breakfasts, however, are whether or not they are worth the cost.

Hotel breakfasts can be found in many forms, from a-la-carte restaurants which costs aren’t included in the room, to expensive room service, to free continental breakfasts. In the case of the latter, obviously, it is worth it to consume your breakfast at the hotel. However, things aren’t always as clear when that isn’t the case.

Many hotels offer an add-on to room rates that include breakfast, and other hotels typically post their menus and their prices online, both of which can help you decide whether or not it’s worth paying for.

One thing to keep in mind is whether or not there are other places to have breakfast near the hotel. If you see that there are cool breakfast spots nearby with cheaper prices than the hotel, it’s a no-brainer to skip the hotel’s offering.

However, if you see that your hotel is not in close proximity to better (or any) options, it might be better for you to make things easier and just eat at the hotel even if you have to pay extra.

Keep an open mind and do your research beforehand, and you won’t have to stress when it comes to deciding your breakfast plans on your next vacation.

Cereal Killer Cafe is the world’s first international cereal cafe and was opened by cereal obsessed brother Alan and Gary Keery in 2014. The cafe is 90’s themed and there are two locations in London, one in Brick Lane, and one in the popular tourist attraction of Camden.

In the five and a half years that the place has been open, they’ve sold over one million bowls of cereal and are famous for selling over 100 brands of cereal and having a full menu of everything cereal related.

The owners buy cereal from all over the world and bring countries’ most famous cereal to London for people to eat. They import cereal from countries such as the U.S., Australia, South Africa, Israel, Germany, France, Spain, and many more.

If you ever find yourself roaming winding around London’s streets, go and eat an exotic cereal that you’ve never tried before. For sure you won’t regret it.

Many articles have been dedicated to breakfasts around the world, and at this point, we’re all familiar with the great morning food offered in the US, England, and France. So we thought we’d highlight breakfasts you could have if you travel to two slightly less popular destinations.

Hagelslag (The Netherlands)

Many cultures have sweet food for breakfast but seeing a Dutch person eating bread with chocolate sprinkles may still be confusing. They may seem like sprinkles used for cake decorating but in the Netherlands, they are called Hagelslag (“hailstorm” in Dutch) and they are one of the nation’s favorite foods. For breakfast, have a fresh slice of bread with a thin layer of butter and sprinkle the hagelslag of choice: fruit, chocolate or, if you’re up for it, anise-flavored.

Arepas (Venezuela)

Despite the fact that not many people outside of South America have heard of it, the arepa is considered by many to be the best breakfast in the world. This Venezuelan treat is, in fact, a tough one to beat. The arepa is a cornflour bread pocket filled with cream cheese, avocado salad, or perhaps eggs and beans. You can make it as nutritious as you’d like, and it’s guaranteed to keep your belly full for hours.
